Free Supervised Bike Corral at Canatara Park

The Bluewater Trails Committee will once again operate a free, supervised Bike Corral near the Terry Fox Building at Canatara Park from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. BWT volunteers will be on-site throughout the day to assist riders with parking and provide trail information.

Canada bike corrals Canatara Park

In 2025, BWT volunteers counted over 4,200 cyclists passing the corral location — a strong signal that Sarnia residents are eager for safe, connected cycling options on major event days.

“The Bike Corral is one of the most direct ways the Bluewater Trails Committee can contribute to Canada Day,” said Paul Eastman, Chair of the Bluewater Trails Committee. “We’re out there on the ground, making it easy for families to lock up and enjoy the day without worrying about their bikes. The turnout last year was incredible — and this year we expect even more riders, especially with the route continuity improvements on Michigan Avenue.”

How to Get There by Bike

Route 1 — Michigan Avenue Corridor: Access the temporary protected lane on Michigan Avenue between Blackwell and Indian Road. Combine with the new permanent bike lanes between Indian Road and Colborne for a continuous, comfortable route into the park area.

Route 2 — Front Street: Ride south along Front Street (fully closed to vehicles beginning at 9:00 a.m.), connecting to the multi-use path at the Point Edward border into Canatara Park.
